Q & A

What is PDF workflow?

We operate a PDF workflow – which means that we print from print ready PDF’s rather than opening up your supplied Indesign or Quark files and then saving as print ready PDF’s.

How should I supply artwork?

To ensure that your artwork passes though our studio and preflight process as quickly as possible please ensure that all images are hi resolution (300dpi), that all colours are specified CMYK, that there is 3mm of bleed and that all fonts are embedded.
Just follow this easy tick list and you’ll be fine:

3mm bleed
Resolution – Select High Resolution
Compression Settings – For colour and greyscale this should be down sampled to 300dpi with “auto compression” set to high
Font Embedding – Select “embed all fonts”

Can you print from Word, Powerpoint or Pagemaker files?

If you have a document created in Word, Powerpoint or Publisher there will be an additional charge of £20.00 for us to create print ready artwork from your file. Just give us a call to see how we can help.

How do I specify a cutting form or guide?

Specify a SPOT colour for the cutter (Rubine Red is a good one) and set the cutter to overprint within whichever application you choose to create the artwork.
